Danger Man was a half hour, British spy series which debuted in September 1960. It centred on John Drake (Patrick McGoohan), a rather unique secret agent who never kissed a woman or carried a gun in the course of his adventures. The series was rather successful and even crossed the Atlantic where it was aired on CBS for a short time in the United States. Danger Man ended its run in 1961.

Danger Man, along with The Avengers and Ian Fleming's James Bond novels, sparked a spy craze in the United Kingdom. As a result John Drake returned in a new hour long version of Danger Man. Through the James Bond movies (Dr. No and From Russia with Love), the spy craze soon hit American shores. As a result CBS also aired the hour long version of Danger Man, although under the title Secret Agent so as to captialize on the new fad towards espionage.

Danger Man  is considered by some to be a prequel to McGoohan's most famous series, The Prisoner. Many insist that the identity of Number Six is actually that of John Drake, often pointing to clues in various episodes of The Prisoner.

The first run of Danger Man is covered under its British title, Danger Man. The second run of Danger Man is covered under its American title Secret Agent.
